What Should You Be Packing in Your Bag for Summer Sports Camp?

Softball-Header3

There are many things young athletes can do to ensure they’ll have a great experience at one of our summer sports camps. Arriving eager to learn new things and meet new people are two very important aspects, but growth typically happens when there is a level of comfort available.

Our coaching staffs do their best to create a positive and fun environment that promotes comfort and growth, but it’ll be hard to do that if you don’t pack the proper things in your bag depending on the camp you’ve registered for! If we’re talking about sports equipment, there are a number of instances where youth athletes don’t have to use their own gear, but everyone knows that you’re the most comfortable when you have your stick, glove, or bat (or anything else) when on the field or court.

And when we’re talking about off-the-field stuff — especially if you’re attending an overnight camp — there are certain things you need that’ll ensure your comfort (and a good night of sleep in the dorms).

Why are we saying all this? Well, it’s our way of telling you to not rush through the whole packing phase of getting to camp. You’re obviously going to be excited to start the most memorable week of your summer, but it’ll be even more memorable (and for the right reasons) if you take the time to make sure you haven’t forgotten to pack anything.

So what exactly should you bring to camp this summer? There are some general similarities throughout — like the fact that you’ll need to bring your health form no matter what sport you play — but there are some subtle differences between each sport. Each of these lists are compiled as if an athlete is headed to an overnight camp.
