5 Core Values Every Summer Sports Camp Should Have

A common question we get from those interested in signing up for summer sports camp is, “What makes your camp different from anyone else’s?”

It’s true that there are tons of sports camps to choose from each summer, but joining an ecamps-sponsored experience is something everyone should have. The list of what separates us from our competition is very long, but most of it boils down to five key things: our core values.

Whether you’re signing up for a camp to improve in field hockey, lacrosse, softball, squash, swim, or tennis, each experience is built upon the same core values: excellence, fun, development, safety, and sportsmanship.

Excellence

Everything that we do throughout all of our camps, we do it with excellence in mind. From the moment you register for one of our awesome experiences, we want to make sure you receive top-notch service and do nothing but enjoy yourself all the way through until it’s time to check out and head home.

That’s why we put so much time and effort in providing fantastic customer service, along with hiring and training a dedicated and energetic staff to help deliver a progressive curriculum at the nicest facilities in town.

Fun

The focus is improving your game on the field, court, or in the pool, but we know that one of the main reasons why you signed up for camp is because you love that particular sport! After all, we’re talking about a game here, and games are supposed to be fun. A great camp is always fun, and we ensure that there are plenty of opportunities to meet and form lasting friendships with other campers.

Development

Not all camps have a concrete plan in place so campers can feel as if they make tangible progress in such a short period of time. We do, though.

We take things like goal-setting very seriously and promote a low camper-to-coach ratio on purpose so our staff is able to provide the individual attention needed for all campers to reach those short-term goals, while also setting them up for success with regard to whatever their long-term goals may be.

Safety

Growth — whether we’re talking about that in an athletic or personal sense — only happens when there is a positive and fun environment that is safe. Our staff members are always around to supervise what happens during camp (especially if it’s an overnight option) and act as role models for those taking direction from them.

Sportsmanship

Most of the work that’s done at camp is physical, but we understand that there should also be a focus on the mental aspect of the game, along with anything else that happens off the field, court, or pool. These campers are the next generation of leaders, and we don’t lose sight of that.
